About campus outreach

The Simon Wiesenthal Center's Campus Outreach division, the dynamic and innovative iACT, forges strategic alliances with campus groups, faculty, staff and students, to foster a new awareness of contemporary human rights, social justice and ethics in today’s college and university students.

Your internship will help us expose the truth behind anti-Semitism, hate and terrorism by fighting for America’s energy independence, by promoting human rights and dignity, by standing firmly with Israel, and by celebrating our unique identity as Jews. iACT is creating a strong and effective presence on campuses nationwide and giving a voice to the next generation of global human rights activists.  JEWISH STUDENT LEADERSHIP FOR A DIVERSE WORLD INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Theme: JEWISH-LATINO OUTREACH

A Project funded by the Los Angeles Jewish Community Foundation’s Cutting Edge Grant Initiative

The Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum of Tolerance, an international authority in anti-bias and leadership education, developed the Jewish Student Leadership for a Diverse World internship program to prepare Jewish college and university sophomores and juniors for living, working and representing the Jewish people in a diverse world. It combines the cutting edge practical wisdom of some of today’s foremost Jewish leaders with iACT’s dynamic activist projects and the best in experiential learning practices pioneered in the corporate world and higher education.

The goals are to equip each student with the awareness, information and practical skills to interact in a diverse world, confront misinformation about Jews and Israel, and build bridges of understanding for mutual support. The practical focus of the course is on Jewish leadership, community outreach and coalition-building with Latino communities as our neighbors and allies. As part of the program, interns will meet and work with Latino youth peer leaders in a special Inter-Cultural Institute before planning hands-on outreach projects.
